Places To Visit near Ravangla & Pelling

1. Buddha Park: Famous As Tathagata Tsal

This place is also known as the Tathagata Tsal. This is a well-maintained park and is one of the best places to visit in Ravangla, Sikkim. The 130 feet high statue of Buddha at the park is the main attraction. The Sikkim government had decided to build it in the year 2006 to observe the birth anniversary throughout the year in Sikkim. There are ample walkways gardens and space for visitors to enjoy the serene surroundings. There is also the Cho-Dzo Lake located within this monastery complex that adds to the beauty of the place. The lake is surrounded by a forest.

2. Ralang Monastery

Ravangla or Rawangla or RavonglaVe is a small tourist town with an elevation of 8000 feet located in the South Sikkim district of the Indian state of Sikkim. It is connected by state highway to other major towns in the state and lies between Pelling and Gangtok. It is the starting point for the trek to Maenam Wildlife Sanctuary. It is approximately 65 km from the state capital, Gangtok, and 120 km from Siliguri, West Bengal. The name is derived from the Bhutia language. ‘Ra’ means wild sheep, 'vong' translates to a rearing place, and ‘la’ means a pass.

3. Bon Monastery: Famous As Bonpo Monastery

This is one of the best tourist places in Ravangla. The monastery is also called the Bonpo Monastery and Bon Yung Dung Monastery.The monastery was first established by the late Yung Dung Tsultrim in 1980 CE. This monastery also facilitates the education of young students belonging to less privileged families. This monastery offers an amazing view of the surrounding hills and valleys of southern Sikkim. The architecture of the monastery is Indo – Tibetan in style. The interior of the monastery is decorated with paintings of Bon Demonical Buddha and Bon Deity.

4. Temi Tea Garden

Temi Tea Garden is mainly known for its black teas. Besides, it is the best tea estate worldwide where tea is made purely with organic fertilizers. Thus, the quality of the tea is impeccable.

Borong is a little special. Little far from Ravangla, a little closer to nature, and a little more further to cities hustle.
